The story behind the cake

A kitchen counter, a worn recipe book and a belief that homemade desserts bring people together. Here's how it all began.

Our beginning

From a home kitchen to sharing sweet treats online

It started with weekend cakes and pastry for friends and family. Word spread faster than we could bake, and before long we'd turned it into our passion project—sharing sweets and easy everyday recipes with everyone who loves homemade food.

Today we're a dessert and baking blog rolled into one—but the heart of it hasn't budged. Same kitchen, same slow mornings, same love of chocolate desserts and sweet treat ideas to share.

What we care about

500 Fantastic Sweets: Homemade Food Made Simple

Cake Recipes

Quality butter, pure vanilla, dark chocolate bonbons and seasonal fruit. Nothing we can't pronounce or wouldn't bake with at home.

Pastry Techniques

Long, slow-baked results and properly tempered chocolate moulds give our desserts their flavour. You can't rush a good cake.

Easy Baking

A baking blog should feel like a friend's kitchen. Come for the recipes, stay for the chocolates and cocoa tips.

Chocolate Desserts for Every Season

Our days are spent developing recipes for 500 Fantastic Sweets—from chocolate bonbons to everyday snacks. By the time we hit publish, we've baked it at least three times. The kitchen is warm, floury, and constantly smells like vanilla and cocoa.

It's meticulous, joyful work—and we wouldn't trade it for anything. There's real satisfaction in sharing a tested recipe and watching someone pull a perfect dessert from their own oven. That's what 500 FS is built on: homemade food that tastes like it was made with care.

  • Every recipe tested in our kitchen, every batch baked fresh
  • Homemade food made with real ingredients, no shortcuts
  • Leftover sweets shared with friends, nothing ever wasted
